Hindu men, teenagers harass Muslim family during Hindu religious celebrations

In Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor, Hindu men and teenagers harassed a Muslim family during Holi celebrations. In a viral video, the teenagers can be seen dousing water on Muslim women using a pipe and buckets, despite their protests. They also forcefully applied colors on their faces while chanting Hindu religious slogans. Police have arrested one person, and detained three juveniles.

BJP members assault Muslim workers, falsely claim they are illegal immigrants

Members of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) assaulted and harassed a group of Muslim workers in Odisha while baselessly claiming that they were illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. In reality, the workers were from the neighboring state of West Bengal. 

Recently, India’s Hindu extremist government announced rules to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), a discriminatory law aimed at stripping Muslims of their citizenship en masse. 

Hindu extremist cow vigilantes assault truck driver for alleged beef transport

In Solapur, Maharashtra, cow vigilantes  affiliated with the Hindu militant group Bajrang Dal assaulted truck drivers who were allegedly transporting beef. In Odisha, cow vigilantes affiliated with the extremist group Rashtriya Bajrang Dal violently assaulted two cattle traders.

Hindu militant mobs have increasingly been targeting Muslims over baseless accusations of committing crimes. These mobs, also known as cow vigilantes, attack and often lynch Muslims accused of transporting cattle or consuming beef. 

Hindu supremacist groups organize anti-Muslim hate rallies

In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Hindu militant groups Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad organized a hate rally, where its members chanted various inflammatory slogans including “What is the identity of terrorism? They wear skull caps and read the Quran.”

In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Hindu supremacist group members threatened to hold a mass protest against the participation of a Muslim singer in a food festival.

In Warud, Maharashtra, Hindu supremacist group leader Pravin Togadia delivered an inflammatory speech targeting Muslims.
