Housing complex walks the talk on communal harmony for Bakri Eid
A housing society, comprising nine towers, on the outskirts of Mumbra is quietly following the path of peace and harmony, where two communities have joined hands for a smooth celebration of Bakri Eid. At Shilphata’s Dosti enclave, a complex of 1200 flats, Hindu neighbours have agreed to let their basement parking space be used to keep over 300 goats.
The Muslim residents, in turn, have hired housekeepers, security guards and even a municipal animal husbandry doctor to keep the area clean and take care of the animals….
Rahul Nayak, a resident of Dosti Ruby, told Mirror, “Our Muslim neighbours discussed this arrangement with us prior to keeping the goats in the basement. We wish them during Eid while they wish us in Diwali.” “In times like these, it is necessary for all communities to spread the spirit of brotherhood,” said Isra.…
