Humanity above all: Man breaks roza to donate blood for Hindu woman

Jaipur: Observing the best practice of humanity above all, a man in Rajasthan broke his fast to help a pregnant woman during an emergency. The incident is reported from Ladnun town of Nagaur district.

Ashraf Khan decided to break his fast to donate blood to the woman after she suffered complication during pregnancy. Ashraf, the Indian Army aspirant, said that he came across a message on social media platform for urgent blood donation and decide to donate the blood.

According to a report in Times of India, a woman identified as Savitri Devi urgently needed blood as she had low haemoglobin level which required blood transfusion. The woman was admitted at a government hospital in Churu district.

“I saw the message with the number of a person who urgently required B-blood for his sister-in-law. I immediately contacted the person and, initially, told them that I can come in the evening as I was fasting. But the family members of told me that the doctors had asked them to arrange for the blood immediately as she had developed complications,” the report quoted Ashraf Khan as saying.

In a similar case on May 14, a man in Assam broke his fast to donate blood to a Hindu patient. 26-year-old Panaulla Ahmad from Mangaldoi district decided to break his fast when a patient needed two units of O-positive blood.
