Indian Americans Express Solidarity with Victims of Delhi Car Blast, Urge Impartial Investigation and Justice
Washington, D.C. (November 10, 2025) – The Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) today expressed deep sorrow and grave concern over the deadly car explosion near Delhi’s historic Red Fort, which claimed at least eight lives and left more than thirty people injured. IAMC leaders extended heartfelt solidarity to the victims and their families and called for an impartial investigation into the tragic incident.
“We are horrified by the devastating blast that killed at least eight innocent people and injured many more,” said Mohammed Jawad, President of IAMC. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we urge the authorities to ensure justice for those whose lives have been cruelly cut short.”
The explosion occurred near a metro station adjacent to the Red Fort, one of Delhi’s most visited landmarks, prompting heightened security measures across government buildings, airports, railway stations, and heritage sites nationwide. A physician at Lok Nayak Hospital, where many of the injured were admitted, reported that several victims remain in critical condition.
Eyewitnesses described harrowing scenes in the aftermath of the blast. According to The Indian Express, vendor Prem Sharma recounted that the explosion overturned his stalls and severely burned his employee’s hand. Another witness, Dilshad Alam, said the explosion felt like a “cylinder blast,” noting that several children were among those wounded. Multiple vehicles reportedly caught fire, with debris scattered across the area.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation. Delhi Police have detained a resident of Gurugram under whose name the car was registered and are working to trace the current owner.
“While we await answers in this painful moment, we hope for a fair, impartial, and thorough investigation into the incident, and we call for those responsible to be held accountable,” said Jawad.
