Indian Americans Mourn 45 Pilgrims Killed in Tragic Saudi Bus Accident
Washington, DC (November 17, 2025) — The Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) is deeply saddened by the tragic accident near Medina, Saudi Arabia, that claimed the lives of forty-five Indian pilgrims traveling from Mecca. According to officials, most of the victims were from Hyderabad, Telangana, and one survivor remains in critical condition in intensive care.
Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of all who perished in this devastating incident. For many of these pilgrims, the journey was an act of profound faith and devotion. News of this immense loss has reverberated across the global Indian Muslim community, bringing shock, grief, and an overwhelming sense of sorrow.
We pray for the swift and complete recovery of the injured survivor. We urge the Government of India, the Telangana state authorities, and Saudi officials to provide the families of all victims with timely support, assistance, and transparent communication during this extraordinarily difficult time.
“We also call for a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Understanding what went wrong is essential to ensuring accountability and preventing such tragedies from occurring in the future,” said IAMC President Mohammed Jawad.
As we stand with our community in mourning and solidarity, we pray that the Almighty grants patience, strength, and healing to the bereaved families, and bestows mercy upon every soul lost in this heartbreaking tragedy.
