Muslim man lynched, 2 others severely injured by cow vigilantes in Assam

In the latest incident of fatal cow vigilante violence, a Muslim man was lynched and two others were severely injured in Assam state. Police have reported that a mob of Hindu militants attacked the three Muslim men over suspicion of cattle theft. The mob also pelted stones at police who arrived on the scene. 

BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh govt detains 74 Muslim Rohingya refugees

The Hindu supremacist BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has detained 74 Muslim Rohingya refugees from various districts. Around 271 Rohingya refugees, including 144 women and children, are currently being held in sub-jails in inhumane conditions.

Hindu extremists, including minor girl calls for violence against Muslims

During an event organized by Hindu supremacists in BJP-ruled Haryana state’s Sonipat, far-right leaders, including a minor girl, delivered hate speeches. The speakers called on Hindus to drop Gandhi’s ideals of non-violence and instead inflict violence on minorities.

Hindu militants harass Muslim juice seller in Delhi

In the capital city of Delhi, members of the Hindu militant ground Bajrang Dal accused a Muslim juice seller of “spit jihad” – a frivolous far-right conspiracy theory used to justify anti-Muslim hate and harassment. The militants also threatened to shut down other Muslim-owned stores in the region. 

US State Department spokesperson expresses concern over Manipur violence

A spokesperson from the US State Department has stated the body is “deeply concerned” by the recent viral circulation of a video of two tribal women being paraded naked by a mob of men in Manipur. 

The spokesperson called the incident “brutal” and “terrible,” adding that the US conveyed its sympathies to the victims.
