Dalit-Muslim Clash in Jaunpur: Chandrashekhar Azad Warns Against Hidden Agenda of RSS
A clash between Dalits and Muslims in a village in UP’s Jaunpur district last week has left the area communally polarised, thanks to the extra-ordinary interest shown in the case by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. It has also given a new opportunity to the Hindutva forces and a section of media to corner Dalit leader Chandrashekhar Azad who has been trying to bring his community and Muslims closer and form some sort of an alliance.… But the promptness shown by Adityanath and his administration did not please the Dalit leadership. Azad, who heads Bhim Army, an Ambedkarite and Dalit rights organisation, saw in it an ulterior motive. “After every atrocity you have to come on the street to press for action against the culprits. But here, the state machinery has become proactive. A strict action has been taken because it fits into the hidden agenda of RSS,” Azad said in a video message to his people.…Read more
Muslim Driver Transporting Cattle Brutally Thrashed in Mangalore by Cow Vigilantes
After a brief pause in cases of mob violence in the name of cow, a Muslim driver has been brutally thrashed allegedly by some Bajrang Dal goons in this Karnataka city when he was transporting cattle in his vehicle. The driver identified as Mohd Hanif was tied with the tempo on which he was carrying the cattle and brutally beaten him up by a mob of cow vigilantes on the roadside. CCTV footage of the incident surfaced on social media which showed the mob stopping the vehicle and snapping at the driver. The footage graphically shows how the mob dragged the driver out of the vehicle and took him to somewhere after damaging the vehicle.…Read more
UP villagers launch attack on Sikh youth; Throw his turban in sewerage
A painful video has emerged over social media in which a mob of Hindu residents could be seen attacking an innocent Sikh youth while disrespectfully pulling his hairs. The incident occurred in village Sherpur of Uttar Pradesh on June 14. Sources have informed that two Sikh youths were passing through village Sherpur on June 14 when their car suddenly touched the car of another youth who is learned to be a resident of the same village. Following this, heated exchange of arguments occurred between the duo sides after which the local village youth called his clan members to dominate over Sikh youths.… The attackers removed his turban and threw it in nearby open sewerage. They also pulled hairs of Sikh youth during this attack. After this incident, a wave of outrage spread across the Sikh community living in nearby areas.…Read more
