IMC-USA denounces the UP blasts; appeals for peace and calm

Indian Muslim Council – USA (http://www.imc-usa.org) , an advocacy group dedicated towards safeguarding India’s pluralist and tolerant ethos has condemned the bomb blasts in Uttar Pradesh. IMC-USA has appealed for peace and urged all Indians to practice restraint and not let the bomb blasts be used to divide the communities.
Six bomb blasts have killed 15 people and injured over 80 in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP). The near simultaneous blasts occurred in the cities of Varanasi, Faizabad and the state capital, Lucknow.
Rasheed Ahmed, the President of IMC-USA, has denounced these attacks calling them an attempt to terrorize and influence the judiciary and legal system of India. He also stated, “Extremism and terrorism must not be allowed to affect the Indian Justice system. An open and speedy investigation into these acts will go far in discouraging their repetition.”
IMC-USA extends its condolences to the victims of these heinous acts, and their families.
