Indian Soldiers Extrajudicially Kill Kashmiri Civilian, Falsely Claiming He Died In A Shootout
Indian military officers shot and killed 20-year-old Shoaib Muhammad Ganai, a Kashmiri civilian, and falsely labeled his death as a “chance encounter.” Police claimed that Shoaib was killed during a shootout between militants and police. Both witnesses and family members slammed that narrative, calling Shoaib’s death a “civilian killing.”
Shahid, Shoaib’s brother, reported that Shoaib had been walking towards a stream near his auto shop when a group of uniformed officers began chasing him, even stopping to ask locals if they had seen which direction he had gone. After they caught up to him, the officers trained their weapons at Shoaib and shot him, despite the fact that he raised both hands in surrender.
“I saw it happen in front of me. The bullet went in his chest,” Shahid said.
“Initially I thought they fired to scare him,” said Javid Ahmad Mir, a witness. “Then I saw the soldiers carrying the body on their shoulders.”
Shoaib’s father, Ghulam Ahmad Ganai, reported that the officers refused to allow the family to go near the body.
“For 10 minutes, the body was lying there,” he said. “Then they took him. We were aghast. We asked them to return the body but to no avail… It was only in the late evening that we got custody of his body.”
Indian military has killed thousands of innocent civilians, mostly Muslims, in Kashmir over the last 33 years since India began its brutal military occupation of Kashmir.
Hindu Supremacist Group Demands Churches, Christian Homes Be Demolished
As demolitions of Muslim homes, shops and mosques continue across India, the Hindu supremacist group Sri Ram Sene has begun to raise the call for Christian homes and prayer spaces to be bulldozed as well.
The organization’s chief, Pramod Muthalik, claimed that people, mostly Christians, “are conducting prayer sessions in their homes in order to convert people into their religion.” He further claimed that there are 500 such homes or “informal churches” in Karnataka.
“The conversion is being done through deceit and force. The only way to deal with this issue is by bringing a stringent law against conversion and by also demolishing illegal churches by bulldozing them,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Hindu supremacist group Narendra Modi Vichar Manch has called for a survey of all mosques in Karnataka in order to search for “proof” that they were once Hindu temples. The call comes at a time when India’s major historic mosques and Muslim monuments, including the Taj Mahal and the Shahi Idgah mosque, are under attack from Hindu supremacists who faslely claim that they were contructed over Hindu temples.
Hindu Supremacist Vice-Chancellor Of Premier University, JNU, Publicly Dismisses Indian Constitution
Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University and vocal Hindu supremacist, stated during an international seminar that India should not be “reduced” to a “civic nation bound by a constitution.”
“Reducing India to a civic nation bound by a Constitution disregards its history, ancient heritage, culture and civilisation. I would place India as a civilisation state,” she said.
Pandit further went on to say that India and China were the world’s only two “civilization states.” The comparison, however, is telling: China is an undemocratic authoritarian state with limited freedom of speech and press, and is currently carrying out a genocide against Uyghur Muslims.
Pandit is known for her intention to construct more “Indo-centric narratives” in the education system, widely understood to mean centering Hinduism while demonizing and erasing Indian minorities. Pandit has also used her Twitter account to call Gandhi’s murder a “solution,” Muslims and other activists “jihadists,” and Sikh farmers “parasites.”
Digital Trucks Across UK Warn Of Impending Indian Muslim Genocide
Digital trucks across the United Kingdom were spotted displaying messages warning people of the ongoing attempt by Hindu supremacists to inflict mass violence against Muslims in India. In London, Edinburgh, and Manchester, trucks displayed news articles, hate speeches, and genocidal calls made by Hindu supremacists.
“Raise your voice against the impending genocide of Muslims in India,” read one truck’s message. “Write to your MP. Now.”
Another truck pointed out the use of conspiracy theories to drive anti-Muslim hatred, saying, “How the coronavirus outbreak in India was blamed on Muslims. The COVID-19 pandemic has been turned into yet another Islamophobic conspiracy theory.”
Other trucks displayed quotes from Hindu supremacist lawmakers, including a quote from a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member who said, “Muslims should be set ablaze just as Hindus burn Ravana effigies on Dussehra.”
