Last month was Ramadan, but even while fasting and sleeping less, IAMC staff and grassroots remained on top of the cause. In addition to holding fundraising drives and Ramadan Roadshows at masajid nationwide, our Associate Media Director, Safa Ahmed, authored and published Yaqeen Institute’s first-ever comprehensive guide to understanding Hindutva. We also co-sponsored a two-part event series at the University of Texas, Dallas

FIRST-EVER YAQEEN PAPER ON HINDUTVA AND ANTI-MUSLIM VIOLENCE
IAMC is proud to share that Safa Ahmed authored Yaqeen Institute’s first-ever paper on Hindutva and its impact on Muslims in India and beyond. Titled “Hindutva and Anti-Muslim Violence: How to Navigate Hindu Supremacy,” the paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the ideological roots of anti-Muslim violence and offers a framework for informed, faith-driven responses.
IAMC AT UT DALLAS FOR TWO-PART BOOK TALK ON SOUTH ASIAN HISTORY
IAMC’s Associate Media Director, Safa Ahmed, was featured on a discussion panel during a book talk for Shattered Lands: Five Partitions and the Making of Modern Asia at the University of Texas, Dallas. The discussion explored the historical and political consequences of partition in shaping modern Asia, with insights that resonate deeply with ongoing developments affecting Indian Muslims.
IAMC WELCOMES USCIRF SANCTIONS RECOMMENDATION AND UN RULING ON UMAR KHALID
IAMC welcomed the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom’s (USCIRF) historic recommendation urging the U.S. State Department to impose targeted sanctions on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). IAMC also welcomed a landmark opinion issued by the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, which found that the Indian government’s incarceration of pro-democracy activist Umar Khalid constitutes arbitrary detention under international human rights law.
CHAPTER EVENTS
Our chapters conducted Ramadan Roadshows and community engagement efforts, strengthening awareness of and support for IAMC’s mission across the country. Here’s what they’ve been up to:
1. Boston
- Successfully conducted Ramadan Roadshows across multiple masjids, engaging communities during Taraweeh and Isha prayers.
- Strengthened outreach through information tables, presentations, and targeted fundraising appeals.
2. New Jersey
- Organized Ramadan Roadshows across several masjids, including Darul Islah (Teaneck), Masjid Sadar (Sayreville), MCNJ, and the Islamic Center of Old Bridge.
- Delivered talks, hosted Q&A sessions, and distributed materials to engage congregants and raise awareness.
3. Maryland
- Conducted outreach at two local masjids through Ramadan Roadshows..
4. Chicago
- Held a Ramadan Fundraising Drive at the Islamic Center of Naperville
- Conducted outreach at ICCD and participated in an iftar with the Muslim Doctors of Chicago, focusing on relationship-building and awareness.
- Continued grassroots engagement through presentations, information tables, and direct community interaction.
